Itinerary

2020 Itinerary:

Day 01/March 16, 2020: Arrive in Seville, Evening introduction at our hotel, Hotel Monte Triana Seville . Included welcoming drink at local restaurant. Optional dinner.

Day 02: Guided visit to the Archeological Museum and the Mudejar Pavillion. Introduction to the Andalucian history and art styles. Visit to the Cathedral and the Giralda minaret/bell tower.

Day 03: Guided visits to the Triana Ceramics Museum and pottery studios. Guided visit to the royal Alcazar de Sevilla palace and its ceramic collection. Free time in the palace gardens. optional visits to the Museum of Fine Art or the Pilatos mansion.

Day 04: Depart for Cordoba. Visit the ancient site of Medina Azahara enroute. First explorations of the historic town and the Roman bridge. Free afternoon; optional visits to the Alcazar and its gardens or the Marques de Viana mansion. Overnight in converted 18 Century palace hotel, NH Amistad Collection Cordoba

Day 05: Guided visit to the Mezquita, focusing on Islamic, Catholic and Visigothic art. Guided visits to the Archeological Museum and to sights at the Juderia, such as the Sinagogue, Capilla Mudejar, Iglesia de San Bartolome, Casa Andalusi and the many patios.

Day 06: Depart for Ubeda.  Guided walk on Plaza Vazquez de Molina focusing on Renaissance architecture and the work of the architect Andres de Vandelvira. Overnight in the  Andres de Vandelvira designed 16 Century Parador Hotel, Parador Ubeda

Day 07: Visit to Tito’s ceramic workshop with demos. Guided walk through the Juderia focusing on Jewish history and culture. Visit to the Sinagoga del Agua and private houses.

Day 08: Visit to ceramic workshop (Pablo Tito 2) with hands on session. Olive tour with tasting. Free afternoon; optional visits to the Renaissance churches of Ubeda and scenic walks around Ubeda.

Day 09: Depart for Granada. Guided walk in the historic Albaicin neighbourhood. Enjoy an aperitif and the sunset views of the Alhambra. Overnight at the historic 15th-century Moorish house, Casa Morisca

   

Day 10: Full day guided visit to the Alhambra Museum: Nasrid Palace, Ceramics Collection, Museum of Fine Arts. Free time exploring the Generalife Gardens.

Day 11: Guided visit to sights in the Centro of Granada: Bib-Rambla square, the Cathedral and the Royal Chapel. Walking the Sacromonte neighbourhood. Visit the Cave Museum and enjoy the natural environment. Optional relaxation at a Moorish bath. Optional night visit to the Alhambra.

Day 12: Walk to the Sacromonte neighbourhood. Visit the Cave Museum and enjoy the natural environment. Free afternoon; optional relaxation at a Moorish bath.

Day 13: Transfer to Ronda, check in to scenic Parador Hotel, Parador Ronda Hotel Guided tour of the historic  centre. Included dinner at the Restaurante Parador de Ronda
Day 14: Free day in Ronda.Included dinner at the Restaurante Parador de Ronda

Day 15: Transfer to Malaga. Visit the Alfarar Pottery enroute. Guided panoramic bus tour of Malaga.Overnight in the historical center at the well appointed hotel, NH Malaga
Day 16: Guided  old city walking tour including Roman theatre and Alcazar. Free afternoon for gallery explorations. There are many museums and galleries including: Picasso Museum and Picasso birth house, Thyssen, Pompidou, and the Malaga Archeological. Final group dinner.

Day 17/ March 31: Breakfast, group or individual transfers to airport.

Tentative Timetable
The excursion starts in Sevilla at 7 pm on the evening of March 16, 2020 in the lobby of our hotel, and ends in Malaga at our hotel after breakfast on March 31, 2020. 

Package Includes

If you must cancel, the following cancellation fees will apply:

There is no refund for arriving late or leaving the trip early.

Discovery Art Travel reserves the right to cancel the trip due to low enrolment, or if we feel that the quality of the trip or the safety of travelers would be compromised. In such a case, we will refund all payments received to date, which constitutes full settlement.

Payment Information

Reserve a space on this exciting excursion by sending in your deposit of $500 USD using one of the payment options indicated below. The PayPal link on this website is the most direct approach. Please inform me when you have made your deposit.

Payments and Single Supplement:

A deposit of $500 is required to hold a space, and deposits received before June 15, 2019 will yield a $100 refund. An invoice for the remaining balance will be sent out to you. An interim payment of $1000 USD is payable on or before July 25, 2019, and the final payment  is due in our office on November 15, 2019. The single supplement of $1450 USD is due and payable on November 15, 2019.

*Deposits can be made in either USD or Canadian currency. Discovery Art Travel pays for services in foreign countries in USD. The final excursion price in USD is estimated 12 months ahead of the departure date. Therefore, depending on currency fluctuations, price increases in services, surcharges and taxes, the final excursion price may vary.

Prices on your final invoice will be stated in USD. Clients are welcome to make payments in either USD or the equivalent Canadian currency.

Registration Process

When your deposit has been received, you will receive a confirmation email that you have purchased your secure option for a seat in this excursion.

You will then receive a registration form; letter/contract; and liability waiver. 

We recommend that you do not book non refundable flights or other services until this excursion has been given a guaranteed departure date. This guaranteed departure date will be given to you as soon as possible. 

There will be additional information letters sent to you as needed, and an invoice for the interim payment and for the final payment.
